Honor, sacrifice, dedication……these were ideals instilled in me by my parents at an early age. My father was a Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard. Many others in my family have also served their country, including one uncle who was an army combat medic in Vietnam and another uncle who gave his life for his country while fighting overseas. I grew to understand the sacrifice one makes when they sign up to serve their country…..and that it’s a sacrifice borne by one’s entire family….not just the soldier. Homes for Heroes is my small way of giving back to this community.
